Besides treats and wet food, waify's finally eating regular dry food as well. It's actually my fault that it took her this long. I had been trying to find Waify's usual dry food, "Chef's Blend." It was suggested by her Foster Dad, Steve. However, I had assumed "Chef's Blend" was a BRAND of cat food. I searched high and low for it, but couldn't find it. Even the cashier at Pet Food Express hadn't heard of that brand before. So I decided to try a "gourmet" dry food hoping that she'd like the expensive stuff. Wrong. Waify sniffed it and quickly dismissed it. Sonar, on the other hand, ate the kitten-version of the same gourmet brand without any reservations. Unfortunately, it makes Sonar a stinky kitty. Argh... my nose!!
I was out shopping for groceries at a supermarket one day and walked down the pet food aisle when i suddenly noticed "Chef's Blend" right in front of me. It turns out Chef's Blend is a FLAVOR offered by Purina Friskies. So i bought it.
The second i poured some of it into Waify's bowl, she came right over and began swallowing mouthfuls of it. COOL! She ate lots and slept shortly afterward. Both of us were happy.
I'm glad Waify finally has her trusty old Chef's Blend back. It's probably one of the few familiar and comfortable things she's found while adjusting to her new home.
Oh, by the way... "Gourmet" is a scam.
